Bikes Together gives free used bikes to groups of 10-15 participants that are identified by partner agencies through their Bike Distribution Program.
Bike Distribution Program
Bikes Together partners with community organizations to distribute fully-repaired bicycles. Their partners select their own group of (10-15) bike-less participants and gather them for a Bike Distro Day at a Bikes Together location. Participants receive a recycled bike, a new lock, lights and helmet, and a Bikes Together volunteer leads a basic safety & maintenance class.
Anyone can use their shop tools and bike stands to fix their own bikes No experience is necessary to use the tools and bicycle mechanics are available to assist and this is absolutely FREE, drop-in & year-round.
Low-cost Bikes
Bikes Together distributes most bikes to those who need them by selling cheap used bikes ($10-50) that are high-quality but need repairs. Those interested can repair those bikes for cheap or free during Fix Your Bike Hours (3 times a week) with help from staff and volunteers.

Volunteer
Bikes Together programs are volunteer-driven. Help repair and refurbish bikes for bike giveaway programs, help participants during Fix-Your-Bike, sort and salvage parts, clean & organize the space, teach workshops, plan events, collaborate with partners, fund-raise, and more. No mechanical experience necessary.
Volunteers have access to free classes, discounts on purchasing, volunteer tutorials, and can receive credit for school or court-ordered community service.
Donate
Bikes Together accepts donations of bikes (and anything bike-related) in any condition. Donations can be dropped off during business hours at either location. Bikes that cannot be salvaged will be recycled. Bikes Together accepts financial donations in the store or through their website and those donations directly support programs and operations.
