This position is an integral part of the firm and will be responsible for coordinating the preparation and processing of client billing for attorneys. This position reports to the Billing Manager. Responsibilities will include; facilitate the monthly client billing cycle including the distribution of proformas for editing by either the Billing Attorney or secretary; finalize proformas after completing the edits. This process includes; split-party billing, flat fees, discounts and other approved alternative billing arrangements; communicate directly with assigned Billing Attorneys, secretaries and clients regarding billing inquiries to ensure all required billing instructions are in place, such as, client billing guidelines, fee agreements and rate set up. As required, conduct monthly meetings with billing attorneys regarding billing concerns; during the proforma process, monitor the rates, client addresses and billing notes; communicate and adjust where appropriate to ensure accuracy of all information; complete the delivery of client invoices: direct mailing, emailing or electronic submission of client invoices via Electronic Billing Hub (EBH) and various eBilling websites; continuously monitor aged WIP, unallocated payments and trust / retainer funds.
