This position is located in the DOI, IBC, Human Resources Directorate, Payroll Operations Division, Debt Management Branch. The Payroll Operations Division provides payroll processing, payroll and tax accounting services, benefits processing, and debt management services to client agencies. TRAVEL REQUIRED

Performs computations, calculates billings, and analyzes billing documents for accuracy
Computes and enters data adjustments to employee Federal, State, local, and Social Security taxes based on billing, end of tax year and employee repayment of debt
Calculates, prepares, validates, and transmits reports of billing and collection activity to clients; prepares and transmits bill transfer package for employees who separate or retire
Performs initial basic research to aid analysis of transactions to determine cause of erroneous billing QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Applicants for the GS-04 grade level must possess one year of general experience or two years of education above the high school level or a combination of education and experience. General experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
Applicants for the GS-05 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level or a BA/BS degree or four years of education above the high school level or a combination of education and experience. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is in or directly related to the line of work of this position and has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position involves demonstrated experience providing a variety of financial, accounting, debt collection or payroll functions/services to multiple clients/customers.

A combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the specialized experience requirement.
Only education from institutions which are accredited or preaccredited/candidate for accreditation may be used to meet education requirements.
