Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine office activities such as answering telephones, greeting customers, filing
Performs routine data entry into computer terminal and verifies accuracy of input.
Performs special duties, conducts surveys, and performs related work as assigned by the Support Services Division Chief.
Assists Training Officer in video productions;.
Copies and collates materials for administration; runs errands for all chief officers and administrative staff.
Assists with the purchase and distribution of department supplies.
Plans and arranges work schedule and establishes priorities to complete scheduled and assigned work within guidelines provided by supervisor.
Observes and follows established city and department polices and procedures in the daily conduct of the job.
Operates a city vehicle on a daily basis to pick up and deliver supplies and run departmental errands.
Delivers equipment and assists as needed with special events and community functions. Many of these events take place after 5 p.m. and on weekends.
Delivers work product and services with responsiveness, courtesy and tact in personal interactions with customers and staff.
Delivers work products and services to customers within assigned work schedule that averages 40 hours per week and is generally performed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.
May serve as an Emergency Worker. OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
May be assigned to assist with staff support functions such as public education, special event set-up, and station supply purchasing and distribution. SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
- There are no supervisory duties assigned for this position.
EDUCATION, FORMAL TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
Requires graduation from a standard high school course or equivalent; or,
Requires an equivalent combination of education, formal training or work experience which produces the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position; an
Requires a valid Colorado Driver's License and a qualifying driver's history as prescribed by the city's Personnel Policies and Procedures.
Previous experience in the fire service or desire to become a firefighter is desirable
Requires a current Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) certification

Ability to establish and conduct verbal communications through speaking, talking and hearing.
Ability to represent the Fire Department to its best interest when communicating with the public.
Ability to schedule, set-up and coordinate special events.
Ability to solicit information via the telephone from other agencies for the purpose of compiling information.
Knowledge of computer data entry and skill in inputting and verifying data.
Ability to accurately file information alphabetically and numerically.
Willingness to perform assigned tasks; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; and ability to get along with others.
Ability to keep records and make reports.
Knowledge of Fire Department policies and procedures; good organizational skills
