GES is accepting applications for a full-time ICC Special Inspector or American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (AWS/CWI) who has relevant experience performing structural inspections on construction materials such as soils, masonry, concrete, firestopping, wood framing, and welding. The ideal candidate will have experience performing field inspection/testing and inspections related to Chapter 17 of the International Building Code and with the Clark County Building Department technical guidelines. The essential job functions of a special inspector include: performing observations and testing per the related technical guidelines; writing detailed reports summarizing observations and testing; communication of results to project managers, clients, contractors and design professionals; organizing work and managing time efficiently and effectively; and showing commitment as a team player to help the company and others achieve desired goals.

The Special Inspector is expected to perform all aspects of Special Inspections and observations in conformance with GES, Inc. quality standards and client schedules. Inspections will be performed on construction materials such as; reinforced concrete, reinforced structural masonry, structural steel and welding and fireproofing. Performs field testing of construction materials as needed. He or she is expected to coordinate all activities with the Field Supervisor and project manager. This position includes company provided vehicle, company provided cell phone, and certification allowance.

Essential Job Functions:

· Coordinates field assignments with the Field Supervisor

· Performs construction special inspections & observations

· Informs field representatives of inspection results

· Prepares detailed reports summarizing special inspection and observation results to be turned in with time sheet.

· Maintains equipment and company vehicles

· Follows Safety Manual guidelines

· Meets with the Project Manager to discuss the progress of field work

· Coordinates laboratory testing with the Laboratory Supervisor

· Picks up field samples for laboratory testing and discusses scope of laboratory testing with the Project Manager

The selected candidate shall have a high school diploma, possess a Nevada driver license or have the ability to obtain one, a clean driving record and possess (1) or more valid ICC or AWS certifications in Soils, Masonry, Reinforced Concrete, Welding, or Commercial building.
