Regional Mobile Thrive - What's That?

The Regional Mobile Thirver (RMT) program is a focused training program designed to recruit the most experienced candidates to join our company as Assistant Store Managers (Mates). RMT's train in two to three local stores over 12 months, at the end of the program they will be relocated (if mobile) or remain in their local area as Mates. We promote Captains (Store Managers) exclusively from within Trader Joe's. Is that talent person you? This training is guided by the Regional Vice President and designed to prepare a trainee for a successful career with Trader Joe's. This program is not for everyone as only the most experienced candidates with qualify.

Who is the Ideal RMT Candidate?

To begin your journey we want you to have:
5+ years of recent high volume retail, restaurant or hospitality experience

3+ year of recent experience as a salaried Store Manager, General Manager or DIstrict Manager

A stand-out history of rapid promotions and increased responsibilities

Demonstrated ability to lead teams and motivate others

Ability to assess and develop talent

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

A Bachelor's Degree

Ability to relocate a plus

No bureaucracy.

We'll be upfront; this exhilarating retail management career has an ever changing schedule and dynamic workload. But our pay and benefits more than make up for it. New RMT's typically earn between $50,000 and $75,000 a year (based on our 47.5 hours work week). In addition to a fun work environment, you can also expect two consecutive days off - a rarity with other retailers!
