TITLE: Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Regional Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Manager
DEPARTMENT: Safety, Health and Environment (SH&E)
SUMMARY:
Manages administrative requirements for the Central Region Safety, Health and Environmental (SH&E) department. Completes new hire employee orientation and all associated documentation. Participates in all levels of employee training, including Operator Qualification (OQ) training and evaluations. Facilitates meetings, training, and other related SH&E activities. Supports project SH&E and leadership as needed, by spending time in the field. Completes incident investigations and field safety audits. Assists in generating training programs, lessons learned, best practices and safety alerts, etc. Manages return to work program, as needed, for injured employees.

• Reports to and receives functional direction from Regional Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Manager

• Provides administrative support to Safety, Health and Environmental department and personnel
C. Contacts
• Maintains contact with appropriate representatives of existing and potential customers in order to ensure company Safety programs and performance meet a satisfactory level of customer expectations. Monitors customer priorities to ensure company capabilities are aligned with customer business needs and communicated
• Maintains contact with regulatory agencies, industry and trade groups to monitor trends and requirements for integration into company safety programs
• Maintains contact with Industry professionals to ensure consistent improvement
• Maintains internal contact with representatives of marketing, administration, insurance, purchasing, equipment, facilities, operations, and accounting departments to ensure sufficient levels of support are provided, company programs are being complied with and all required information is provided to functional departments
D. Principle Responsibilities
• Completes new hire orientations and conducts Operator Qualification (OQ) evaluations as needed
• Spends time in the field and provides support to project leadership with SH&E requirements
• Establish and maintains contact with client OQ personnel to ensure the SCI corporate program adequately service's their requirements
• Ensures company personnel are familiar with all program and policy requirements
• Manages Safety Health and Environment Programs and recommends critical actions for follow-up
• Monitors and reports on Safety Health and Environmental performance throughout the region
• Support and Manage "Good Catch" recognition program
• Assists to ensure subcontractors and vendors are in compliance with company and client requirements
• Maintain proper recordkeeping to satisfactorily pass internal, customer and regulatory audits
• Maintain detailed documentation of all employee training completed, needed or about to expire to ensure compliance with company, client and regulatory requirements
E. Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of construction safety and health and program development. Experience can be any combination of formal education and relevant on the job training. Experience in utility/pipeline construction is preferred.
• Must be familiar with all related Safety and Health requirements applicable to work in the area of responsibility
• Must be capable of developing and writing programs, policies and procedures
• Must be computer literate and able to use applicable software consistent with responsibilities
• Professional certifications in Safety preferred
• Ability to obtain additional SH&E certifications
