Hiring Salary Range: $4,451.20 to $5,677.54/monthly

Denver Water’s Engineering Division is currently seeking a qualified candidate to assist us as a Staff Analyst working under supervision performing engineering contracting functions from document creation to final execution. May perform a variety of tasks designed to provide comprehensive knowledge of water utility operations. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have a strong desire and a passion to assist Denver Water to become the “best water utility in the nation”.

The successful candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

Serves as a key contract administrator ensuring timeliness and accuracy in contract development from inception to execution. Works closely with Engineering Project Managers to produce final contract documents and coordinates document reviews, approvals and execution.

Orchestrates on-line bidding functions and maintains strict adherence to established bidding and award practices.

Studies and analyzes operations, functions and policies; prepares comprehensive reports of findings.

Assists in the administration of various programs, serving as liaison between sections, providing training, guidance and direction.

Maintains and/or analyzes budgets, work plans and schedules; reviews expenditures; assembles data for budget preparation, and coordinates the production of monthly reports.

Performs duties requested by supervision to obtain working knowledge of that area.

Performs related duties as assigned, including event planning, intra- and interdepartmental communications, scheduling and invoice processing.


ualifications for appointment:
Considerable knowledge of contracting practices and techniques.

Experience as a project coordinator and familiarity with contract document development, negotiations and contract administration and compliance practices.

Ability to handle multiple tasks both effectively and efficiently.

Considerable knowledge of basic mathematics.

Basic understanding of engineering and/or construction operations preferred, and work experience in an engineering, legal or procurement setting preferred.

Ability to compile, analyze data, produce reporting documents for various audiences and assist in formulation of solutions to problems.

High level of proficiency with word processing and presentation software and the ability to assist in preparation and presentation of technical research and reports.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with demonstrated strong proofreading and copyediting skills.

Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, the public and other private and public sector organizations.

Ability to interact with internal customers at all levels of the organization. The position requires ability to work autonomously on self-directed and prioritized projects. Work is very deadline driven and requires the ability to work well under pressure.

Demonstrated advanced level proficiency with technology platforms, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Education Requirements: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in business or public administration, law, or related field, depending on the requirement for specialized knowledge.

Experience Requirements: Two years’ experience in professional, administrative or management activities, depending on the requirement for specialized experience.

OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Requirements: Must perform on-call duty as directed. Position may require HIPAA training.
