Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations:

The Power Group is seeking a Service Technician that will provide technical field services primarily in the US/Canada.

A successful candidate for this role will be

responsible for the installation supervision, troubleshooting and maintenance recommendations to our customers as well as commissioning new combustion equipment at customers’ job site.   The Technician must possess good mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn complex mechanical and combustion systems.  The Technician must also possess a solid understanding of basic electrical theory and have rudimentary knowledge of PLC’s and Touchscreen Displays (HMI’s).

The Technician will be expected to travel on a regular basis to customer job sites.  The Technician will need solid interpersonal skills and be a trusted adviser to the customer.  The Technician will be expected to advise the customer regarding spare parts and suggest Preventative Maintenance Service. 

The Technician will be expected to climb stairs or catwalks and work in outdoor environments at job sites.  The technician will need to be responsible for meeting all the safety, health and performance training requirements.  Technicians must be actively committed to environmental, health and safety programs. 

Work Experience Required: The candidate shall have solid mechanical and electrical aptitude, good mechanical or electrical troubleshooting skills and be able to articulate and communicate clearly and precisely with customers.   In addition the candidate must have very good interpersonal skills.

Work Experience Preferred:  The candidate shall have prior work experience or have had an internship working in a combustion industry or related field. 

Education/Certification Required: 4 year degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical or nuclear engineering from an accredited college or university.

Education/Certification Preferred:  A minor or major degree in computer science/engineering with programming abilities related to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's).

Physical Demands/Unusual Working Conditions:  Be able to travel to job sites approximately 75% of the time.

Other Considerations:  Climbing up stairs and ladders to access instruments will be required at many job sites in both hot and cold environments..
