Performs departmental administrative/clerical duties under the supervision of an RN.
Greets patients and visitors.
Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
Facilitates unit communication as needed.
Assist health care team in accurately maintaining patient medical records.
Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
Assembles and maintains patient records and charts.
Performs needed clerical tasks, including but not limited to, copying, faxing, filing, and ordering/obtaining supplies.
Assists with keeping unit(s) and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
High School diploma or GED
