3 Aurora police officers rush into burning home to save elderly man

Three Aurora police officers suffered minor injuries late Wednesday night when they rush into a burning house and rescued an elderly man, the Aurora police chief said.

“Tonight, our officers forgotten their own safety to quickly rush into a house fire where it was believed an elderly man was inside,” Aurora police tweeted at 9:48 p.m. “Officers were able to get the male out of the home and fortuitously everyone is okay after being checked out by our partners at Aurora Fire Department.”

Aurora Fire Rescue firemans treated the three police officers for minor injuries, Aurora police Chief Nick Metz wrote in a tweet. He thanked them for doing so, in his tweet.

Metz wrote that the officers altruistically entered the home to save a man’s life by acting on information that person was still inside the burning blaze.

“Proud chief!” Metz wrote.
