Most City and County of Denver offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. In addition, most City and County Denver offices will be closed Friday, Nov.
Due to the holiday and furlough, the Mayor’s Office, City Council offices, Clerk and Recorder’s Office, Auditor’s Office and most city agencies will be closed. Partner entities such as Denver Health will remain open Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27, as will agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, such as Denver International Airport. Sworn members of the Denver Sheriff, Police and Fire departments and other emergency responders will report for duty Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27 as well.
Several city services remain on modified operations schedules independent of the holiday and scheduled furlough day due to COVID-19. 3-1-1 INFORMATION LINE, DENVERGOV.ORG AND DENVER 8 TV
3-1-1, the city’s information line for non-emergency services will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. Service requests may be submitted via mobile device using Pocketgov or online at denvergov.org/denver311. Updates are available continuously on www.denvergov.org. ANIMAL SHELTER & ANIMAL PROTECTION
The Denver Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. Animal Protection Officers will be available to respond to emergencies as requested by the Denver Police Department.
AUDITOR’S OFFICE
The Auditor’s Office will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27.
BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS
Building and Zoning permitting will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. No inspections will be scheduled those days.
CITY COUNCIL
All Denver City Council offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27 due to the holiday and furlough day.
CITY-OWNED GOLF FACILITIES
Golf courses will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26 and open on Friday, Nov. 27, weather permitting. Denver Golf Courses are open with restrictions for COVID-19 policies in place for the safety of everyone. Please review these policies before making a tee time.
CLERK & RECORDER AND MARRIAGE LICENSES
The Office of the Clerk and Recorder – including marriage licensing, the Public Trustee, Records and Recording – will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27.
COMMUNITY TESTING SITES

COURTS
The Denver County Court and all state-operated courts, including the Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building, will be open Friday, Nov. 27. For additional information: Denver County Court | 2nd Judicial District.
The Denver County Court will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26. The Denver County Court will not be hosting an Outreach Court session at the Denver Rescue Mission on Thursday, Nov. 26 due to the holiday. DENVER ARTS & VENUES
Outdoor spaces at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre will be open Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27, as will the Red Rocks Trading Post. DENVER COUNTY MOTOR VEHICLE OFFICES
The five Denver County Motor Vehicle office locations will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. Until further notice, all Denver Motor Vehicle branches will be closed to the public for in-person service. For vehicle renewal online, visit the Denver Motor Vehicle website or mydmv.colorado.gov. DPD officers and DOTI Right of Way Enforcement agents will not be enforcing expired tags in Denver through the end of the year.
DENVER HUMAN SERVICES
All Denver Human Services locations will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27, however child and adult protection emergency response teams and telephone hotlines will be taking and responding to reports. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE PERMIT COUNTERS
DOTI permit and the Right of Way Enforcement offices will be closed Friday, Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. Permit counters remain closed to in-person service due to COVID-19. ELECTIONS DIVISION

EXCISE & LICENSES

LIBRARIES
Live remote services such as phone reference, eProgramming, and curbside holds pickup will be unavailable on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday and city-mandated furlough. Curbside holds pick up is available and book drops are open at all locations with the exception of Smiley and Byers. Locations remain closed for public use. OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES TALENT ACQUISITION TESTING AND NEW HIRE ONBOARDING
The Office of Human Resources Talent Acquisition Testing Center will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. Applicants will still be able to search and apply for open positions at denvergov.org/jobs. The Talent Acquisition front desk will also be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. New Hire Onboarding assistance and I-9 verification will resume on Monday, Nov. 30.
OFFICE OF THE MEDICAL EXAMINER (CORONER)
The Office of the Medical Examiner (Coroner) will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. Office staff will be available to respond to emergencies.
PARKING METERS, CASHIERS AND MAGISTRATE
Parking meters are free on Sundays and on recognized city holidays, and will be free Thursday, Nov. 26. Drivers are reminded to observe the time restrictions posted.

In order to practice social distancing and help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Parking Magistrate’s Office is currently not accepting walk-in hearings, but is working remotely to assist customers. To reach the Parking Magistrate:

RECREATION CENTERS
All Denver Recreation Centers and Pools are closed until further notice as details on how to reopen safely and equitably amid COVID-19 are determined. All centers that are meal sites will not be offering meal service on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27.
TAXPAYER SERVICE CENTER
The Taxpayer Service Center will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. Additionally, Denver’s TPS will be reducing its in-person service hours to 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday and Thursday only until further notice. Online and mail transactions remain available seven days a week. Online services are available for:
- excise tax transactions (Sales, Use, Lodgers, OPT, TBT, E911, TID) including account registration, tax return filing, and tax return payments at denvergov.org/ebiztax.
- Real estate property taxes or business personal property tax payments can also be made at denvergov.org/property (NOTE: online services will be unavailable beginning 12/17 through Mid-January for end of year processing).

TRASH, RECYCLING & COMPOST COLLECTION
