Denver man charged in connection to brutal home-invasion rape, crime

Denver prosecutors have charged a 34-year-old man with two counts of sexual assault and snatch in connection to an alleged home-invasion rape, assault and crime.

Jerome Lucas has besides been charged with crime and assault in connection to an attack on a woman just as she returned home from a gym on March 24, according to a news release by Carolyn Tyler, interpreter for District attorney letter McCann.

The woman had returned home around 1:20 p.m. and then she showered and took use items out her door. She left the front door to her home open but closed her screen door, Tyler aforementioned.

When she returned to her house, a man rush up to her and punched her in the head several times, causing her to fall to the ground, the news release aforementioned. The man demanded money and her “good jewelry.” He then allegedly tied her up, gagged her, and sexually assaulted her. later, he barred her front door with her couches then scarf her car and fled, the news release aforementioned.

The victim went out her back door and got to a friend’s house to call police, the news release aforementioned. She was taken to Denver Health Medical Center for treatment.

A DNA profile was obtained from evidence taken from the scene and a CODIS hit resulted in a match to Lucas.

Portland, Ore., police and U.S. United States United States Marshals Service Service in remission Lucas and he was extradited back to Denver.  He is being held on a $500,000 cash only bond, the news release aforementioned.
