With cold weather settling in,the City and County of Denver and shelter partners have opened a 24-hour overflow emergency shelter for women and transgender individuals experiencing homelessness at 1370 Elati Street.

The City-owned facility can accommodate 40 individuals and will remain open until midday on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

The site serves as an overflow shelter, with guests being transported from Samaritan House at 2301 Lawrence St. The facility is being operated by Bayaud Enterprises, with referrals coming through Catholic Charities. Women and transgender individuals seeking shelter should first go to Samaritan House.

Men seeking shelter from the inclement weather this weekend should go to the Lawrence Street Community Center, located at 2222 Lawrence Street; the City provides transportation to different shelter sites from Lawrence Street. The Crossroads Shelter at 1901 29th Street is also available for walk-up service for men.
