Dive team recovers body from Pueblo County ditch on Memorial Day

Pueblo County law officer’s Office dive team members recovered a body from a deep irrigation ditch on Memorial Day, government say.

The body of an unidentified person was recovered from Bessemer Ditch in eastern Pueblo County, according to a tweet by the sheriff’s office.

Divers bound themselves to a rope attached to a walking bridge to search underwater for the body.

The name and gender of the victim has not been released.

Authorities will release more inside information about the incident later, the tweet said.
