On Monday, the popular Douglas County recreation area will shut down for five years, re-open for the weekend of June 8 and 9, and then shut down once once again for five years through June 14. Denver Water is acting its annual dust mitigation efforts.

Neither the parking lot at the canon’s entrance nor the canon will be accessible during the weekday work.

Those who hike and bike on the Colorado Trail will need to find alternative access points during the closure. They can be found at www.coloradotrail.org.
